SUMMARY:Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation's Birthday
DESCRIPTION:Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation’s birthday is June 25th! \nCelebrate another year of the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation with us! The SBTF was founded in 1995 by a family whose son was facing a brain tumor diagnosis. It has grown into a Foundation that has funded almost $3 million dollars in research\, awarded scholarships\, and supported patients and their families. Our impact together can be seen in the research strides as well as in the improvement of the lives of brain tumor and brain cancer patients and their families. Each year the generosity of our loyal supporters is translated into research grants\, educational scholarships\, support group programs and patient services. The Foundation is proudly served by an all-volunteer Board of Directors who have each been impacted by a brain tumor or brain cancer. \nPlease consider making a birthday gift to the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation today and celebrate with us! \nIf you donate on this site you can choose how to direct your gift: research\, scholarships\, or to lighten the load for patients. Don’t forget to check to see if your employer will match your gift and double the impact of your generosity! Thank you for celebrating the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation’s Birthday!

SUMMARY:Giving Tuesday
DESCRIPTION:Giving Tuesday 2023\, a global day of generosity and kindness\, is November 28\, 2023. Funds raised on the day of kindness will support the brain tumor patient initiative which offers acts of kindness such as grocery delivery\, meal options and transportation assistance to those currently undergoing treatment for a primary brain tumor. The Foundation partners with local treatment facilities to lighten the load for patients as a simple act of kindness as they face brain cancer or a brain tumor. \nGiving Tuesday occurs annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving each year following Cyber Monday and Black Friday. \nYou can financially support this initiative on our Donate Page and select Giving Tuesday  (be sure to check to see if your employer matches gifts!) or you can set up a personal fundraiser on Facebook\, add a donation sticker to an Instagram story\, or use our “Fundraise Your Way” feature to create a personal fundraiser such as a bake sale\, car wash or anything else to benefit the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation on Giving Tuesday 2023! \nIn addition\, you can help spread awareness by posting why you support the SBTF on social media and sharing the Foundation’s social posts that day. Or\, you could choose a special gift from our Amazon Wish List and brighten\, as well as lighten\, someone’s day.

SUMMARY:Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation's Birthday
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate another year of the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation with us! \nSometimes the donations received during our Birthday Celebration are earmarked for a specific goal: \n\nSummer Medical Student Fellowship\npost-secondary scholarships\npatient programs including grocery delivery\, transportation assistance and other services\nor as general donations to the Foundation\n\nThis year\, we are gifting to our patient community. Our Amazon Wish List contains items useful to patients currently undergoing treatment such as lip balm\, blankets\, puzzle books\, hard candy\, gloves\, lotion and more. Items are shipped directly to our staff from Amazon who then create Care Bags for the patients at local treatment centers. \nDonate here on this site\, on Facebook or on Instagram. If you donate on this site you can choose how to direct your gift: research\, scholarships\, or to lighten the load for patients. Don’t forget to check to see if your employer will match your gift and double the impact of your generosity!

SUMMARY:IBTA International Brain Tumour Awareness Week
DESCRIPTION:The 2021 International Brain Tumour Awareness Week\nThe 15th International Brain Tumour Awareness Week will be held from Saturday\, 30th October 2021 to Saturday 6th November 2021 inclusive. We know how challenging it is to organise activities this year because of the pandemic. But there are still things we can all do to raise awareness of brain tumours: for example\, you could do a virtual walk; contact your local media and tell them your story; post awareness messages on social media; have a Zoom tea party or quiz with friends and family to raise funds for vital brain tumour research; organise an educational webinar about brain tumours; launch educational resources online; etc. Anything\, no matter how small\, which you can do to raise awareness of the particular challenges of a brain tumour diagnosis and the need for a special response and an increased research effort would be greatly appreciated by the international brain tumour community.\n \nPlease register/report your Awareness Week activity by completing this form. \nOrganisations and individuals taking part in The International Brain Tumour Awareness Week can download a logo (shown right) to promote their activities here. (See conditions here.) \nThe 2021 Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours \nThe 15th Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours runs between 1 January and 31 December 2021. People are encouraged to undertake sponsored or unsponsored walks to raise awareness about brain tumours and to symbolically “donate” the mileage covered to the World Walk target of circling the Earth at the Equator (24\,901 miles or 40\,075 kms). \nThe IBTA does not wish to receive any funds raised by these walks or by other brain tumour awareness-raising activities. Funds raised should be donated to a local or national brain tumour support or research activity. \nOrganisations and individuals taking part in Walk Around the World for Brain Tumours can download a logo (shown right) to promote their walk here. (See conditions here.) \n\n\n\n\n\nPlease register/report your Walk by completing this form. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn more on the IBTA’s website. \nThe SBTF encourages its supporters to share their stories and raise awareness of brain tumors and brain cancer. The Foundation will be sharing facts during the week and our supporters are welcome to share those social media posts themselves.
