DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the SBTF\, the Adult Brain Tumor Support Group aims to provide an opportunity for information sharing and support for brain tumor patients\, as well as their family\, their friends and their caregivers. Learn about all the brain tumor support group opportunities on our Support Group Resource page. \nFor the first time since March 2020\, the SBTF is pleased to offer this face-to-face brain tumor support group meeting for adult patients and caregivers. The meeting will occur in the Neurosurgery Conference Room B2200. Upon entering the foyer\, check in with the front desk to advise them you are participating in the brain tumor support group meeting. They will direct you to the conference room. \nParking decks are located just off Clifton Road\, directly behind Emory Clinic Building B in the lower gate East Deck. SUMMARY:Emory St. Joseph's Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the SBTF\, the Emory Brain Tumor Support Group aims to provide an opportunity for information sharing and support for brain tumor patients\, as well as their family\, their friends and their caregivers. Learn about all the brain tumor support group opportunities on our Support Group Resource page. \nThe Emory Brain Tumor Support Group currently meets via the online platform Zoom due to pandemic safety concerns. When able\, the group meets at the St. Joseph’s campus of Emory Healthcare in Atlanta\, Georgia. However\, the online platform is slated to continue even after face-to-face meetings can resume. This will allow participants not in the Atlanta area and those who do not feel comfortable in a group setting to still have access to the support group. \nMeetings are held every other Thursday from 12:30 – 2:00 pm ET. The meetings are open to patients and their caregivers. Some meetings include a guest speaker on topic relevant to the brain tumor community. Past guests have included representatives from the Brain Donor Project\, the Jasper Health app\, physical therapy professionals and more. \nAll support group meetings are facilitated by a trained medical professional and are inclusive of all patients who are facing a brain tumor diagnosis and their caregivers. \nPlease RSVP to Farnaz Arabshahi at farnaz.arabshahi@emoryhealthcare.org or call 404-668-9511 to register and receive the Zoom invite.
