support the southeastern brain tumor foundation with a donor advised fund
Help support the brain tumor community my making a grant recommendation from your donor-advised fund (DAF).
A DAF is a charitable savings account that gives you the flexibility to recommend grants to the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation and other qualified charities with tax benefits.
You can also create a lasting legacy by naming the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation the beneficiary of the entire account or a percentage of the fund. You can create a family legacy of giving by naming your loved ones as your successor to continue recommending grants to charitable organizations like the SBTF.
How does it work? An example-
Joe and Anna want to give back to their hometown by putting their money where it will do the most good. They estabilish a $25,000 donor advised fund with a community foundation. The couple receives a federal income tax charitable deduction for the $25,000 gift in the year it was made. They also get the time they need to decide which charities to support.
After researching community needs, Joe and Anna recommend two $5,000 grants for the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation (which they've supported for years) and a local animal shelter. The foundation presents the charities with checks from the "Patricia Fund," which Joe and Anna named in honor of Anna's mother. The remaining $15,000 in the DAF is invested and grows tax-free for both Joe and Anna and the future receiving charities. Joe and Anna can request a grant at any time to any qualified charity in the future.
The couple names the SBTF as the beneficiary of the DAF to receive the account balance after their lifetimes. Joe and Anna are delighted to start this personal legacy of giving.

Simply select your organization, enter the designation (instructions on how the charity should use the funds), and the amount. You will then be redirected to your DAF organization to complete the gift with the SBTF's information pre-populated.
